Nessie was created from a love for thoughtful design and a passion for creating beautiful spaces for children to grow, play, and dream in. It takes the stress out of the design process, offering a professional yet affordable virtual interior design service. By working virtually, I’m able to provide expert guidance and beautifully curated plans without the high costs of traditional interior design.
Welcome, I’m Charné — a mom of one, an interior designer, and a DIY enthusiast. I know firsthand how important it is for children’s spaces to be both functional and inspiring. From nurseries and playrooms to bedrooms that grow with your child, I believe that every space, no matter how small, has the potential to become something truly special.
I’m passionate about helping parents bring their vision to life in a practical and achievable way. Nessie was designed to make interior design accessible to families who want guidance, creativity, and a clear plan to transform their children’s spaces into something beautiful and meaningful in their own way and time.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose Your Package
Start by selecting the design package that best suits your needs and your space. Get in touch with us and we will send you a quote. Once the payment is processed, a questionnaire will be sent to you.
2. Complete the Questionnaire
Please provide as much detail as possible so I can fully understand your vision, style preferences, and how the space will be used. If I need any additional information, I will be in touch. The questionnaire takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
3. Design Process
After receiving your completed questionnaire, measurements, and photos of the space, I will begin working on your design. The design process typically takes 4–6 weeks to complete, depending on the scale of the project.
4. Online Design Consultation
Once your design is ready, we will schedule an online consultation where we will go through the full concept together. During this session, I will explain the design ideas, layout suggestions, and product selections so that you can confidently bring the space to life.

PROJECT SHOWCASE
Take a look at this adventure-inspired toddler room we designed — a space created to grow with your child while keeping play and comfort at the heart of it.
The room features a custom Montessori-inspired ¾ bed designed for flexibility and longevity. It includes removable teepee posts, a detachable safety gate, and side barriers that can be removed as your child grows. A pull-out bed underneath can be used on its own with legs, or positioned alongside the main bed to create a queen-sized setup, perfect for sleepovers or future use.
To bring the theme to life, we incorporated a custom mural inspired by the Stellenbosch mountains, adding a sense of calm and adventure. The space is layered with a soft foam play mat, a refurbished rocking chair, and a chest of drawers that previously doubled as a changing station, blending practicality with thoughtful design. Finishing touches include custom throw pillows and personalised graphics featuring a meaningful Bible verse, making the space both unique and deeply personal.
